As the principal of Curls Jude Joseph Property Group, Dr. Curls is committed to providing quality commercial and residential services, including site acquisition, planning and design, construction
management, HUD Section 3 consulting, and compliance monitoring, with a special emphasis on revitalizing inner city communities.
Her experience includes responsibility for the Community Development Corporation of Kansas City (Missouri)’s HUD 202 projects, including site selection, land assemblage, construction
management, compliance monitoring and coordination with community and faith-based organizations, and as Director of Real Estate for CDC-KC, responsibility for the coordination and oversight of the
organization’s commercial and residential real estate activities.
These included new construction and rehabilitation of the housing stock within four surrounding neighborhoods, negotiations for the development of anchor commercial tenants (including Walgreen’s,
AutoZone, and Hollywood Video) to stabilize the Linwood Shopping Center District, and neighborhood community input and involvement. Earlier work for CDC included responsibility for the
CDC’s single family housing developments, both renovated and new construction.
In addition, Dr. Curls, while with Leimert Professional Group in Los Angeles, worked with the Regional HUD office to upgrade and manage an eighty unit multi-family housing project located in
South Los Angeles, where she also developed tenant associations and mediated gang disputes impacting the development.
Dr. Curls’ experience includes development of and acquisition of funding for programs such as the R.T. Coles Vocational Institute (CDC-KC), the Workforce Renovation Program (CDC-KC), the
Community Sentencing Program (Jackson County, Missouri), and the Safe Haven Program (Ad Hoc Group Against Crime).
A member of the CJJ team since 2007, Mr. Stewart brings extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. His duties include identification, selection, and acquisition of various parcels of land for proposed real estate development projects, the review of real estate transactions, and preparation of reporting requirement documents.
Ms. King recently joined CJJ. A veteran of the Kansas City real estate community, Ms. King was Broker/Owner of Exodus Real estate LLC, through which she developed marketing strategies, worked with the Community Development Corporation of Kansas City as a real estate consultant, and performed audits for compliance with continuous training all on aspects of the real estate industry. In addtion, she has experience in professional apartment property management, including collections, budgeting, and tenant relations.
Ms. Brice has over 9 years of experience in commercial real estate development including lending, equity investment, federal & state tax credits, tax increment finance, and public/private
development partnerships. Throughout her career Ms. Brice has maintained an active presence in and focus on development in urban communities and community economic development.
A commercial real estate lender for over 5 years Ms. Brice has co-managed, underwritten and closed over $350 million of debt for retail, office, hotel, industrial, and multi-family
housing projects nationwide. In this capacity she has also has worked with over $100 million of debt related to Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Transportation Development Districts (TDD), Sales
Tax Revenue Bonds (STAR) and New Markets, Historic, & Low Income Housing Tax Credits.

management, business planning, business development, financial investment and real estate development.
Maxwell Consultants and Associates is a holding company that manages real estate, rehabilitates properties, markets businesses, and invests in small companies. The firm is also nationally known for
it’s works with community development corporations and economic development. Mr. Maxwell served as the President of the Community Development Corporation of Kansas City from 1976-1998.
Locally he has completed and/or been involved in over $200 million of development. This includes shopping centers, multi-family, single family, office, and industrial property development.
